These phones have been repainted by the same phone company that paints for the phone company, and has been for decades. They use a finish called "Polane" which is a polyurethane enamel that is much better than standard paint. It's more like a coating that bonds with the plastic for a very durable finish. The finish is an absolutely stunning look.
