This phone replaced the 500 as the standard desk phone. It's built a lot tougher than the phones of today. These machines were meant to last many years. The phones I have from Cortelco are the good old fashioned made in the USA phones, not cheap imports. Cortelco was a major competitor for Western Electric and were based in Corinth, Mississippi. These phones have available volume control handsets making them hearing aide compatible. PLEASE BE SURE TO INDICATE WHEN ORDERING IF YOU WANT A VOLUME CONTROL HANDSET.
